"The best way to establish a fair and equitable settlement prior to, as well as during a claim dispute...is with a professional appraisal, performed by a qualified appraiser."

                                                                                  ...Insurance Institute of America

Why do I need an appraisal?
Necessary for settlements of estates, setting up of wills, Insurance settlements, donations, market value for insurance quotes, relocation, loan verification for financial institutions, personal property tax assessments, valuation disputes, divorce or a variety of other reasons.

Having a professional appraisal gives the executor solid facts and figures to work with in meeting IRS and state agency requirements.

Why chose A TO Z ?
Over 10 years experience. I am an active member of the AACA…Antique Automobile Club Association… the oldest car club in the world.

A founding member, past officer and board of directors of the Z Car Club Association…a sports car club affiliated with Nissan Corporation. I have dealt with most national insurance agencies, including Allstate, Farmer’s, Geico, and many others.

Presently registered in Galveston County, Harris County, and all surrounding counties.

What do you get for your dollar?
A detailed, on-site, report (complete with notes of interest). Using a 1-10 rating (one being poor, ten being perfect), the auto is gone over from top to bottom, bumper to bumper.

Digital pictures are taken and when available, the car will be test driven to note of limited mechanical aptitude. Standard fluid checks, such as oil, water, brake and clutch fluids are checked for levels and standard eye-ball evaluation.

I will not remove any mechanical covers, or check anything requiring the use of tools, nor run any tests such as compression, viscosity, etc.

I can, however, recommend a competent garage, which is in no way associated with A to Z Appraisals, that can do a much more in-depth mechanical inspection, which is highly recommended when purchasing an unknown vehicle.

Upon arrival, an inspection usually takes from 1 to 2 hours. When available, comments from the owner will be noted.

All original paperwork and photos will be mailed to you via U.S. Postal Service.

I will retain, for my records, your appraisal for a period of five years…at which time it is recommended that a new up-to-date, accurate appraisal be done.

Need your appraisal quick?...

I offer expedited service for an additional $100/vehicle. The documents will be completed and emailed to you (baring any computer/server issues) within 48hrs of completion of the examination.

Having issues with your insurance company?

I offer mediation services at the rate of $50/hr.

What type of insurance do you have ?

Check your policy and/or with your insurance agent.

The most common type of policy for antique/collectible cars is what is commonly known as a Fair Market Value Policy.

A fair market value appraisal is an opinion of your vehicle's worth based on the appraiser's training, experience, and current market trends. many insurance companies request an independent fair market value apppraisal...especially if there is a difference in opinion regarding your vehicle's worth.

This is where we come in....setting a fair market price...one that you are comfortable with and one that the insurance agency agrees to.

Charitable Donations & Tax Write-offs

We can provide an auto appraisal to the IRS for charitable donations. We will provide the necessary IRS Forms...properly filled out and signed, along with a signed appraisal for you to submit.

Do you want to take a tax deduction for donating a vehicle valued at over $5,000?  You will need an appraisal along with a signed IRS Form. We will add value to the vehicle for the vehicle's condition, equipment, modifications, and upgrades. Our report will ensure that your vehicle's value is accurately reflected to the IRS.

If the vehicle is worth less than $5,000 an appraisal in not mandatory, but it is suggested. Sometimes the IRS audits those who simply use the highest "Blue Book" value as proof of value. An appraisal will add validity to your claim.

The all-important disclaimer.
Understand that an inspection is NOT a guarantee, nor is any type of guarantee implied. It is merely a tool to be used when determining the current market value of an automobile. Our inspection can only describe and/or identify defects actually found and/or which are reasonably capable of being found upon external visual consideration of the vehicle at the time of inspection. We cannot be held and are not responsible for any latent defects, which are later discovered. While such defects may, in appropriate circumstances, give rise to a claim against a vehicle supplier, they fall outside of the scope of our reports and our reports are provided to, and accepted by the customer on this basis. Our service provides an impartial opinion, with your best interest in mind.
